The Braai Tong - Heritage Day Edition
Same Donkey Tong 69cm as you know and love, but with a few tweaks that make it even more proudly South African. It has a solid yellowwood handle (our national wood) with an asymmetrical shape to give you the Ultimate Grip. On top of that, we patina the stainless steel to give it a beautiful golden finish. One arm of the tong is hand-engraved with icons of South Africa that make you think of Mzansi every time you see it.
The first release in our Art Tongs range, made specifically for Heritage Day. Includes custom wrapping, stickers, and even a Certificate of Authenticity. Nothing says "Heritage Day" like this.

Clean your tong
Get some hot water, soap and a microfibre cloth. That's it. Wipe it down with soap and water and it's ready to use again.
Note: if you use abrasives, the gold will wear off during washing. As this tong gets used, silver marks will start to show through. It helps it develop character. That's part of the fun.

Over time, yes. That's the nature of a patina. High-contact areas will show wear first. Treat it gently and it'll last. Use it hard and it'll get a look all its own.

One tong arm is hand-engraved with a scene of South African icons. If you look closely, you'll notice a springbok, a rugby ball, a blue crane, a galjoen and more. The other arm stays blank and ready for you to personalise.
You can. Simply follow the instructions on our page to personalise your tong with either a typed engraving or a handwritten one. Please note: this engraving will be on the opposite arm to the icons.
No. 304-grade stainless steel is corrosion-resistant and made to last. Fires are tough. Your tools should be tougher.
